Airside Drivers English Competency Test (ADECT)

The purpose of the Airside Drivers English Competency Test (ADECT) is to determine the language proficiency level of CAT-1 airside drivers who has not attained the ICAO Expert Level (Level 6) proficiency for the English Language. Airside drivers are expected to demonstrate at least Operation Level (Level 4) proficiency in the use of the English Language for Radiotelephony Communications (RTC) with Air Traffic Control in order to conduct effective operations.

Conduct of ADECT

The ADECT consists of a 20-minutes interview to observe and assess the natural response and language proficiency of each candidate. 

The interview will be recorded for validation purpose. The interview consists of 3 parts and candidate will be tested on Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary, Fluency, Comprehension and Interactions.

Applicants must make reservation with RELC at least 2 weeks before the intended test date. Reservation is on a first-come first-served basis.

Test Fees and Venue

Candidates are required to submit the completed registration form and make payment via Bank Transfer / PayNow to RELC by the stipulated date indicated in our email one week before the test date

All payment details must be verified prior to the finalisation of any PayNow or bank transfer. All fees paid are non-refundable.

The test fee will be SGD130.80 (incl. GST) for each individual candidate.

The test venue will be via Zoom
