Introduction

The Centre is dedicated to the development of expertise and excellence in language teacher education and the promotion of international cooperation among language professionals. It publishes scholarly research and information materials to achieve these aims.

The RELC Journal is published by Sage on behalf of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Regional Language Centre (RELC) located in Singapore. It presents information and ideas on theories, research, methods and materials related to language learning and teaching. The Journal welcomes contributions, as short research reports or viewpoint articles, related to the common professional concerns of both the practitioner and the researcher, providing a bridge between theory and practice

As part of our service to teachers and researchers, one section of the Journal will continue to be devoted to book reviews.

RELC New Portfolio Series

The RELC New Portfolio Series aims to provide “how to” booklets for teachers and teacher trainers focusing on principles, procedures, activities, examples, and application tasks. 

They can be used:

  • As a basis for workshops and in-service courses
  • As course reading in face-to-face or blended courses
  • For independent study

RELC Portfolio Series

The RELC Portfolio Series, published in the early 2000s, consists of short practical resource booklets for ESL/EFL teachers. Booklets in the series have the following characteristics:

  • They are practical and techniques-oriented
  • They are written in an accessible, non-academic style
  • They focus on both principles and procedures
  • They are priced very affordably

 

Titles in the series provide teachers with practical ways of applying new ideas to their own classroom teaching. In addition, the booklets can be used as the basis for workshops and in-service courses and can also be combined in different ways according to participant needs.

The New Anthology Series consists of academic papers selected from those presented at the annual RELC International Seminars from 2022 onwards.

The Anthology Series consists of academic papers selected from those presented at the annual RELC International Seminars from 2003 to 2012 and includes, from time to time, other articles of high academic quality.
