Peter De Costa is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics, Languages & Cultures at Michigan State University and a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Education (Singapore).   His research areas include emotions, identity and, ideology in language Education. He is an associate editor of The Modern Language Journal.
