58th RELC International Conference
The 58th RELC International Conference, held from 11th to 13th March 2024, with the theme of ‘Re-humanizing, Re-conceptualizing and Re-imagining Language Teaching and Learning for Education 5.0’, was the first fully in-person conference RELC had organised since 2019. The Guest of Honour for the opening ceremony was Datuk Dr Habibah Abdul Rahim, Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat. SEAMEO RELC welcomed over 350 participants and presenters, comprising language educators and researchers from around the world, for the conference. The programme featured 140 parallel sessions, 12 workshops, 13 plenary sessions and 3 panel discussions, with 2 of the parallel sessions conducted online as the speakers were unable to be in RELC for their presentation. The Conference featured 13 Invited Speakers from countries like Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America, as well as 10 Featured Speakers from our international conference partners – CamTESOL, JACET, KATE, MELTA, NELTA, PALT, TEFLIN, CULI, ThaiTESOL and 21st Century English Education.
