From 30 April to 17 May 2024, 12 teacher leaders from 8 SEAMEO member countries, who had been awarded the SEAMEO RELC Scholarship, came together to learn about teacher leadership practices. Blending in-person instruction with online learning, RELC’s Dean/TRAC, Dr Alvin Pang, led the scholars through a reflection of the models of continual in-service professional development for language teachers, and facilitated the translation of theory into practice with guided exercises to design and plan training programmes for their different contexts. As these passionate leaders in education generously shared insights and co-created knowledge, new friendships were forged and these strong bonds would drive continued collaboration long after the conclusion of the course.
