The Inaugural APEC-RELC International Seminar

Language Education: An Essential for a Global Economy

The Inaugural APEC-RELC International Seminar was held from 19 to 21 April 2010 at SEAMEO RELC. The Seminar was jointly organized by APEC and SEAMEO Regional Language Centre for the first time. The theme of the Seminar was ‘Language Education: An Essential for a Global Economy’. Over 500 participants from just under thirty countries attended the Seminar to listen to over one hundred speakers. Mr S Iswaran, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education (Singapore), graciously officiated at the Opening Ceremony

RELC International Hotel staff member, Mr John Siak Tack Chiew is the winner of the SEAMEO Service Award 2009/2010. The award recognizes Mr Siak’s outstanding performance, exemplary service and work commitment.
