| Introduction^TOP Highly regarded worldwide as one of the best of its kind, the Library supports RELC programmes in training, research and development, materials production, publications, seminars and other professional activities. It has important resources in language education and research, applied linguistics and the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. The multimedia collection includes books, periodicals, video cassettes, audio cassettes, CD-ROMs and microforms and comprises over 55,000 print and 7,000 non-print items. Access to the collection is provided through an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). Reference and information, loan and interlibrary loan services, listening, viewing and photocopying facilities and displays are provided to users from countries within and outside the region. Accessions lists and bibliographies are produced and widely distributed to encourage use of library resources. The electronic versions of some of our subscribed journals are available online. Access to these online journals is subject to terms and conditions and limited only to authorised users. The Library also maintains and updates the Directory of English Language Scholars and Researchers in SEAMEO Countries to enable individuals and institutions to identify scholars and researchers in the region who are able to make significant contributions to the improvement of English language teaching and research.
