Language Skills for English Language Teachers, Xi'an Gaoxin No. 1 High
School, China
Three staff members from
the Language Education and Research Department taught a course on
English Language Skills for English Language Teachers at Xi'an Gaoxin
No. 1 High School in China for a period of one month. The overall
objectives were to enable the teachers to apply innovative strategies
learnt to their own teaching contexts, and to raise their level of
proficiency in using English in simulated classroom situations. The
course components included a methodology project and sharing sessions
through which teachers contextualised their learning.
The training was well
received by the course participants who said they found extremely useful
and practical, and were looking forward to integrating new ideas into
their lessons in the coming term.
