Workshop 1 - The Road to Reading: Guiding Readers through Texts

Give your students more control over their learning! This three-hour workshop helps teachers construct reading guides to assist their pupils engage meaningfully with the text.  You will learn about the nature and value of such guides and explore different models. You will also construct a reading guide of your own as a practical outcome to the workshop.

This workshop is designed for teachers of upper primary.

Workshop 2 - Thinking out of the Language Box: Harnessing your Creativity

Tired of teaching English the same old way? Looking for new teaching ideas? Rekindle that lost and diminishing spark of brilliance and creativity within you, and transform routine and monotonous teaching into an unforgettable, exciting and joyful language learning experience for your students!

It’s time to equip yourself with the strategies and knowledge for building and harnessing that creativity within you for language teaching.

Workshop 3 - Vocabulary Revisited: Teaching Vocabulary Creatively

Vocabulary is the central core of language, and new techniques for integrating vocabulary learning with other aspects of language are vital for all teachers. Designed for primary school teachers in Singapore, this three-hour workshop introduces enjoyable ways of exploring and integrating vocabulary. You will better understand the nature of vocabulary and how to introduce new words and help students to make connections.

This workshop is designed for teachers of upper primary.

Workshop 4 - Working with Wigglers: Engaging the Kinesthetic Learner

Do your students wiggle and/or move about when sitting? Are some considered 'hyperactive'? Maybe they are kinesthetic learners. These are possibly the most neglected learners in everyday school settings.

Learn how to engage your students in activities that involve body movements, hands-on creativity and interaction. Meet the needs of kinesthetic learners in your language classroom, and introduce fun activities for all your students.

This workshop is designed for teachers of Primary 2 to 4.
