Workshop 1 - The Road to Reading: Guiding Readers through Texts Give your students more control over their learning! This three-hour workshop helps teachers construct reading guides to assist their pupils engage meaningfully with the text. You will learn about the nature and value of such guides and explore different models. You will also construct a reading guide of your own as a practical outcome to the workshop. Workshop 4 - Working with Wigglers: Engaging the Kinesthetic Learner Do your students wiggle and/or move about when sitting? Are some considered 'hyperactive'? Maybe they are kinesthetic learners. These are possibly the most neglected learners in everyday school settings. Learn how to engage your students in activities that involve body movements, hands-on creativity and interaction. Meet the needs of kinesthetic learners in your language classroom, and introduce fun activities for all your students. This workshop is designed for teachers of Primary 2 to 4.
