Judging criteria
All blog entries are judged on the following criteria:
Content, presentation and language;
Quality of comments and discussion contributed and received.
Pleaser note that in order to qualify for the best blog, all participants should not only showcase the best content and presentation but also actively read about and post comments on others’ blog entries, at least 2 of which must be from other SEAMEO countries. Please read the Rules section for more information on correspondence with fellow competitors.
Prizes
Four best bloggers are selected for the entire 6-month competition, with 2 winning entries for each of the 2 rounds. Each winning blogger is awarded S$1000. No country can win in more than 2 awards.
Rules
1. All participants must register with RELC by submitting their personal details, which include email address and blogsite URL, using an application form. RELC will only use participants’ personal details for the purposes of administering the competition, and will not publish them or provide them to any other party without their permission.
2. All blog entries must be written in English.
3. All blog entries could include audio and video components as well as texts and graphics.
4. Only one blog entry will be accepted per individual or team.
5. 1 best blog is selected at the end of every 3 months and the winner will be contacted personally.
6. First round competition winners will not be allowed to participate in the next round of competition.
7. Unsuccessful entrants can re-enter each new selection for every 3 month period following the posting of invitation to participate on RELC website.
8. The judging committee’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. RELC does not accept any responsibility for late or lost blog entries due to any problems related to the Internet.
10. No editing of blogs must be undertaken at the end of every second month of the competition. Participants will be disqualified from the competition if found to have done so.
11. All participants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering the competition. Participants will also be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by any extra rules that appear on RELC website.
12. All participants must be respectful of others’ religions and beliefs in responding to each other’s comments.
13. All participants must ensure that their work is originally and every material used must be copyright free.
RELC reserves the right to NOT acknowledge blogs or comments by participants which:
are considered likely to provoke or offend others
are racist, sexually explicit, religiously sacrilegious, abusive or otherwise objectionable
contain swear words or other language likely to offend
condone or encourage unlawful activity which includes breach of copyright, defamation and contempt of court.
advertise products or services for profit
are seen to impersonate someone else
repeatedly post the same or similar messages ('spam')
are unrelated to the theme
include contact details such as telephone numbers and postal or email addresses
describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others
