BEDAYA
(DANCE)
Bedaya is a group dance with the composition of 9 female dancers. The composition contains of certain stories-- very symbolic and not using dialog. The moves are very smooth and gentle. "Composition 9" has individual names, such as: Batak, Jangga, Dada, Buncit, Apit Ngajeng, Apit Wingking, Endel pojok, Endel Weton Nganjeng, Endel Weton Wingking. The functions are as a cultural show during Keraton's tradition ceremonies, such as King's coronation and Tumbuk Yuswa (Birthday Party).


KALIMANTAN (BORNEO)'S Karang Dodue musical instruments (MUSIC)
Karang Dodou musical instrument is traditional music from land of Siang, North Barito, Central Borneo. Karang Dodou is kind of ritual music that can be seen in special traditional ceremonies, such as Bathing A Baby Ceremony ("Noka Pati" Ceremony), and healing sick people to save his/her spirit. This ceremony was named "Nambang Morua" Ceremony. This music includes chanting or magic songs with a magic spell to "Mohotara" (The God).


PENGGUNG CAMBAI from Lampung (DANCE)
"Penggung" means touching, while "cambai" means Betel Vine. Penggung Cambai dance is a villager's dance of Lampung region who illustrates their life, especially about the rules of the life for the youth to respect the culture. Betel vine is a symbol to honor guests, and it is often used in the welcoming ceremony for honoured guests or it is used in other parties.


TOR-TOR DANCE from North Sumatra (DANCE)
This dance included entertainment dance from north Sumatra. This dance is usually used as interlude entertainment of traditional ceremony. The kind of movement of the dance is very simple, always imitating animals, like Walang Kekek (grasshopper), which in traditional language is called Balanghua. The background music of the dance is Gondang Simalungun. The dance comes from Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra. Basically, it is done by male and female dancers (in couples) by using an umbrella. The dance tells about youth's life in its territory. The original background music using Talempong and Saluang. But, in this time, the dance is accompanied with western instruments, like Malay Orchestra. The accompanying songs are Babindi-bindi song, Singgalang Runtuah, Singgalang renyai, dan Minang lenggang song.
