Preparation for IELTS (Academic)

The IELTS examination is widely recognized for entry into educational institutions for courses conducted in English. Give yourself an advantage by taking our short preparatory course specially designed to help you understand and do your best in this important examination.

This is the course for you if you:

§         plan to take IELTS Academic in the near future

§         want to know more about the examination

§         need to practice some of the skills and techniques that will help you succeed

Our course covers:

§         the exam papers and requirements

§         techniques and skills for the four exam elements

§         practice activities for reading, writing, listening and speaking

§         exam tips

In addition to your lessons you will have unlimited access (subject to availability) to our computer laboratories during your course. Here you can do as much additional study as you want in your own time with our multi-media English programme. This programme helps build your listening and speaking skills and develops your grammar and vocabulary.

The approach is very exam focused and you will be involved in discussion and interactive activities and well as more individual practice.

Open entry for all those with intermediate proficiency in English preparing for IELTS.

You will be required to take a short placement test.

Participants who attend at least 75% of lessons will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance

You will buy a textbook on the first day of the course (approx S$50).

1.         Registration

 Please bring your Registration Form to the Language Education and Research Department (LER) Admin Office, Room 614, Level 6 or send completed registration form to:

2.         English Language Entry Tests

            For the English Language Entry Tests please come the LER Admin Office,  (Room 614, Level 6) at the following times.

 3.         Payment Procedures

 The Registration Form must be accompanied with full payment of fees by credit card or cheque. The payment will not be processed until the course is confirmed. Cheques will be returned / credit cards will not be charged if the course is not conducted due to insufficient number of registrants.

 4.         Public Holidays

Lessons that fall on public holidays are not made up.

 5.         Customized Courses

 We also conduct customized company-based courses. The course schedule can be arranged to suit the organization.
